Tutup Panci Bistro Spotlight

Hello and good day, people! It was late in the evening when we decided it's about time we give a visit to the nearest, fanciest bistro around. The three of us took a while to stick up, fortunately it doesn't add up to anything undesired since the bistro itself was open 'till midnight. Friends told me the dishes here worth not only the price, but also our time. Be it true, the flavors were magnificent, the dishes are as unique as the place. To be honest, I can only think of when could I be there some other day. The food are well-made, the beverages well-polished, and the place simply fits today's meaning of a modest bistro.

Tutup Panci Bistro, a place like nothing else before. It's placed in Anggrek Loka, just across Eka Hospital. It opens in the weekdays from twelve in the afternoon until eleventh o'clock. We were lucky enough to come late in the evening that there was only the three of us and a few more people around. There wasn't a lot of car parks, but there was a bike parking just near. The whole interior can be seen from the outside since wall-sized glass replace most of the walls. We were approaching the entrance when one of the waitress ( or barista, how they call it ) immediately open it for us. The interior resembles that of a casual dining room, with wooden seats, spotlights, typographies, murals, and a counter in the corner. Had they not build this bar-like counter, the place would instead looked like a cafe. We soon felt like taking pictures, but hey we haven't even took our seats.

We took our seats. They presented us with literally a pan. We opened the lid and there's a pair of menu, one of the main courses, and another of the desserts. I found it amusing that the pan doesn't seemingly fit any design in the room. Had they not named the bistro Tutup Panci, there would have been nothing to do with the pan. We took a while to decide what to order. They serve several fusion, flavor-based, appealing dishes. The price are fairly balanced around Rp30k - Rp50k per dish, while the drinks are around Rp20k. It was harder for us to choose the dishes over the drinks. We soon noticed that there are several promos, one of them being a 8% discount for students with their IDs. They took our orders, and left us while we took photos around. We really took our time photographing that it didn't feel long until our dishes came.

Legendary Volcano and Pitbull, Rp 30k.
Sangria, Rp 25k.

This fried bread is filled with sausages and bolognaise. The portion was more than enough for me, and it was served warm, in addition to the bistro's dining atmosphere. Imagine the bite of warm, crispy bread mixed with sauce, and you got the idea. They did this one better than any other fried bread dishes i know. The taste and flavor lasted long within the mouth, and the crisp kept engaging me to stuff another, bigger bite. Overall, it was pretty good for a first-time trip.
We also ordered a drink unique for it's name. This one was first on the list, so we implied that this was their signature beverage. The Sangria was a mixture of tea and fruits, with a little taste of soda. It was served really cold, similar to how wines are served. The taste of bread and tea may not match so well, but the bread's warmth did balance the Sangria's cold taste.

I never knew a bistro could be a satisfying place in the evening. Tutup Panci Bistro was one of the finest, distinct addition to the fusion culture. It has the feel of an ideal home-dining. We recommend Tutup Panci Bistro for their well-defined taste of flavors, clever use of first impressions. Anyone, people going home from work, schools, or even food bloggers, add this good little bistro to your trip. Have a nice day!
